Racism is a topic mentioned continually worldwide. No matter where one may go, the practice and subject of racism goes on. However, many people respond differently to it. I, personally feel that it is an abhorrent concept just because one person or group of people feel a certain way about another, and therefore urge to exclude them from things they can rightfully and legally have access to.
As a result of racism, especially in this country, people are distrustful of the powers that be. Meaning, many minorities are distrustful of Caucasians primarily due to their strong hold of high power positions in decision-making. Vice-versa, it's a misconception that people of color cannot be racist, as a teacher in high school once told me. This example may seem very random, but it is just a prelude to the exploration of the truth and lies about racism and every other thing that's wrong with this world today.

Morals and Their Effect on Me
There's so much going on in the world, that if I listed it all you'd be sitting there reading it for a couple of days; months, even. So, I'd rather just talk about the issues raised when considering these worldly events.
A lot of times, many important issues, especially healthcare, are noted in dramas - for example, television, movies, plays and such. Through these, it is easy to see how these issues concern a particular person through their work and the way they present. A sub-example of this, I've seen, are how extreme issues like healthcare are portrayed in comedies and cartoons like Family Guy, which pokes fun at all of the wrong in this country and our government.
Another issue I've come across so far is the topic of racism. No, wait, I know you're thinking, "Ugh, not this again." Yes, this again. And not just this once, either. No matter where you turn, you'll always here this topic breached because people always want to bring it to the forefront. Since I, myself am African American, I feel that there are many injustices served to many different races due to the color of their skin. But, come on! People just want to blame all of their problems and shortcomings on racism and "the white man". Give it a break!
"I can't get a job, it's because I'm black." "She got a better grade then me, it's because she's Latino and the techer feels sorry for her." People are just getting more and more outrageous these days with the racism thing. Stop being f***ing lazy and do what you're supposed to instead of dumping your uselessness on others. They get what they want because they work for it. Try it sometime, will you?
And finally, the last issure I have come across that raises my hackles is the public transportation system. Countless foreigners claim that New Yorkers are cold, hostile, and unfriendly, and well, I will not refute that statement. Why? Because our public transportation system sucks! If it's not a delayed train, it's a delayed bus, or a bus that isn't delayed but zooms past when half of it is full. Or you pay your raised fare and just want to get where you're going in peace and quiet but there are a bunch of grown two year olds being rowdy and disrespectful of the other passengers. Oh, and please, you get on the train and can barely sit down because of the filth left behind by the unhelped homeless on the seats, or they want to ride downtown with you and you have to put up with their PSA's and unbearable stench.
What's my issue, you ask? I'm tired, sick and tired, in fact, busted and disgusted, of having to shell out hundreds of dollars of broke-college-kid money that I can't afford to ride a bus or train that's overpriced and full of headaches. I'm also tired of MTA raising fares and going on strikes and nothing's happening - that regardless of how much we plead and complain, repairs are being made at inconvienient times, I'm late for work or school, and how we're just supposed to accept the crap they give us. Enough is Enough!
